The Longest Day Golf Challenge is run on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support and involves teams of four golfers playing 72 consecutive holes on the longest day of the year, which is typically around June 21st.
There are now more ways than ever to raise money for a charitable cause, so if you prefer a day at the links rather than pounding the streets in a marathon why not raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge. As hinted in the name this takes place annually on the longest day of the year which is typically around the 21st June and involves teams of four playing 72 holes of golf at your chosen course. Scoring is done through the stableford method which is helpful for speeding up play if you go two shots over the defined score which depends on your handicap. Furthermore each year the team with the best score will get to compete at a tournament in an exotic location such as Portugal in recognition of their skills.
You do not even have to pay an entry fee to enter the Longest Day Golf Challenge, all you need to do is submit your team's score and sponsorship forms by sending them to their UK postal address:
The Longest Day Golf Challenge,
Macmillan Cancer Support,
89 Albert Embankment,
However please be aware that donations are not processed at this address, you should either pay in money at one of their selected banks or online through portals such as Just Giving for your convenience.
