What is the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge?

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is an biannual event that takes place on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can participate in the challenge as part of an organised fundraising event or as part of a self-organised group but will have to arrange how to pay your proceeds to your preferred charity independently. The fundraising event usually takes place under 12 hours, with a hiking route that stretches across 24-miles long and includes 5,200 ft of ascent.

Participant Enquiries - 0330 2233 900

You should contact the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge team on their general enquiries telephone number 0330 2233 900 if you have any queries about how to collect sponsorship money prior to the event. However, it will be the responsibility of the participant to donate any collected proceeds to their preferred charity after completing the hiking challenge. The Three Peaks advisor can also instruct callers how to take part, as you can only get involved in the challenge as part of an organised event or a self organised group of between four and fifty walkers. If you have a team of participants organised then you should call the above number to find out when the next scheduled hike is but it should be noted that the Three Peaks team can also arrange private events for large groups. Participants who are unfamiliar with the hiking route will be pleased to know that there will be a challenge guide on the day of the event but may also wish to order a map of the area for each member of their group in advance.

Moreover, you can call the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge office to discuss how to register your participation as their official registration service will provide guidance on how to organise a safe challenge, record your performance online and promote your fundraising efforts. Registration costs £6 per person and participants can sign up on the Three Peaks Challenge official website. Furthermore, participants will be pleased to know that registration will provide a Three Peaks Challenge certificate upon the successful completion of the event. As the challenge takes a full day, you may wish to ask the Three Peaks team for suggested accommodation to stay in before and after the event.
